A Canadian man who won $12 million in the lottery last year recently left a restaurant owner a $10,000 tip after the proprietor -- without realizing the man's worth -- shared a story about his daughter having cancer.
UPDATE: A Powerball ticket sold in Dearborn matched all six Powerball numbers drawn last night to win half of the $587.5 million jackpot. A little more than five months ago, a Los Angeles woman bought a lottery ticket at Michael’s Market & Liquor. She then left it in her car and forgot about it, obviously not that enthused with her 18 million-to-one odds of hitting the jackpot.
Unbeknownst to her, she hit that jackpot to the turn of $23 million.
The Missouri Lottery reports that a woman from Ionia has won a major lotto prize. Geraldine Carrico of Ionia followed her hunch about a Missouri Lottery "Cash Ka-Pow" Scratchers ticket and ended up winning a $20,000 top prize. Carrico, 65, bought the winning ticket at Rush Hour 9, 1320 South Limit in Sedalia on June 15.
