The Missouri State Fair's public campgrounds will open by 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4.

The Missouri State Fair competition schedule officially gets underway this Thursday, July 28, with the 4-H and FFA Horse Show, followed by the prestigious Society Horse Show Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe recently announced two programs for the 2016 event that will provide Missouri 4-H and FFA youth exhibitors with opportunities to educate fairgoers about Missouri agriculture and showing livestock.

Missouri elected officials, leaders in agriculture and supporters of the Missouri State Fair will join Governor Jay Nixon and First Lady Georganne Nixon at the 64th annual Governor’s Ham Breakfast on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Friday, July 1, is the deadline for entering 4-H and FFA livestock contests at this year’s Missouri State Fair. This is also the deadline for open shows for beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, mules, poultry, rabbits, sheep and swine, according to Fair Director Mark Wolfe.

Three concerts were recently announced by Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe, adding a mix of rock, classic rock and country music to this year’s State Fair, Aug. 11-21 in Sedalia.

The Missouri State Fair will take place August 11-August 21. A few concert announcements have already been made for this year's fair, including Lady Antebellum, Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Janson and LoCash. Here's a look at the entertainment lineup for the 2016 Missouri State Fair.

The country lineup for this summer's Missouri State Fair is growing. The fair has announced that Lady Antebellum and Kelsea Ballerini will perform on the final weekend of the 2016 fair, on Saturday, August 20. The fair had previously announced that Chris Janson and LoCash will also be part of this year's entertainment lineup at the Pepsi Grandstand Arena.

Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe today announced three great entertainment options for fairgoers attending the annual event on its final weekend. Two country music concerts and auto racing will finish out the Pepsi Grandstand series at the Fair, which will be held Aug. 11-21 in Sedalia.
