Thousands of kids from low-income families in Pettis County qualify for free school lunches.  The problem is when school is out on long weekends or holiday breaks, many of these kids go hungry. The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri is helping to break that alarming trend with the Buddy Pack. At 9:30 Thursday morning (June 15), the Voilture 333 of the 40&8 Veterans Organization presented four flags to the citizens of Pettis County at the Pettis County Courthouse. The audience for the flag ceremony consisted of state and local dignitaries, including State Representative Stanley Cox, Sedalia Mayor Elaine Horn, City Councilman Wiley Walter and all three Pettis County Commissioners. .
