Sedalia JROTC Honors Veterans with Breakfast Ceremony [INTERVIEW]

A big holiday is coming up that means a lot to many of us here in the Mid-Missouri Area. With Whiteman Air Force base being so close, and so many of our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers and friends being active military or a veteran, everyone is affected in some way.  And our local young people want to be sure that that day is kept sacred and thankful. I'm talking about Veteran's Day, of course.

Show Me Honor Flight 13 Returns Home from Washington D.C. [PHOTOS]

Show Me Honor Flight veterans were welcomed home last night (Oct. 29), and what a welcoming they received! As they exited of I-70 from their all day event, they were greeted by 25 roaring motorcycles waiting for them at Marshall Junction to escort them home. As they came into Sedalia and over the railroad tracks downtown, a large group of citizens were there to greet them, as well as the Sedalia Fire Department. The fire department sprayed two archways of water over the bus as it passed through, and on the other side were people waving and cheering them home. They traveled down Ohio to 3rd and then turned right off of 3rd to Osage, coming to a stop at City Hall to one of the largest groups that have welcomed the Honor Flights home.

Sedalia City Council Discusses Mandatory Building Inspections

The Sedalia City Council held a special meeting Monday night (Oct. 29) to present a draft for an ordinance on mandatory building inspections for downtown buildings. Following a presentation of the ordinance by Sedalia City Administrator Gary Edwards, Sedalia Mayor Elaine Horn asked for comments from the downtown building owners in attendance.

Prairie’s End Pumpkin Patch Ends Their Season with Fall Fun [PHOTOS]

Last weekend was the last chance to to get out to the Prairie's End Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze for their third year. The boyfriend and I with his two kids went this past Sunday, and it was just a blast!

Noonday Optimist Haunted Hayride Draws Huge Crowd to the Missouri State Fairgrounds [PHOTOS]

The Noonday Optimist Club held their Haunted Hayride last weekend.  I went down there with my boyfriend and his two kids on Saturday (Oct. 26) at the Missouri State Fairgrounds, west of the Grandstand.   It was a little nippy out there, but that certainly didn't stop the throng of crowds!
