Winter Storm Watch Issued for West Central Missouri

Could the last gasp of winter be coming this week? The National Weather Service is predicting snow to impact this area on Wednesday night (Feb. 20) and Thursday (Feb. 21). A Winter Storm Watch has been issued, and they are projecting that a bulk of the snow should be north of Highway 36, while I-70 and Highway 50 areas could get a lot of ice, sleet and snow.

Win Tickets to See Monster Truck Racing Super Series in Sedalia

You walk in to the Matthewson Exhibition Center and see dirt covering the arena floor.  It is mounded up in places and the old cars are in place.  The kids are all excited because they see what is in each corner of the floor.  "Shock Therapy," "Ground Pounder," "God, Guts and Glory," and "Nail It," are waiting to roar to life at the Monster Truck Racing Super Series and deliver a show that includes Chicago style racing, freestyle competition and a monster truck wheelie contest.  Plus the Tuff Trux - Pro Stadium Trucks direct from TV will go over the obstacle course and Pro Quad Racers will race motocross.

Best Places in Sedalia to Watch Super Bowl XLVII

Currently the White House is being petitioned to make the day after the Super Bowl a national holiday, because last year an estimated 111 million people watched the Super Bowl.  According to Fox Sports fun facts about the Super Bowl, nine out of 10 of the most watched U.S. TV programs have been Super Bowls and 51.7 million cases of beer are sold.

Here are the top four places in Sedalia to grab a cold one and watch the Baltimore Ravens play the San Francisco 49ers at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3.

EMA Prepares for Potential Severe Weather; North Sedalia and Skyline Shelters Closed

The Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency released a statement today (Jan, 28) updating Pettis County residents on the status of the local storm shelters.  The statement was issued following a forecast that included a slight risk of high winds and isolated tornados.  In the event that a tornado watch is issued in Pettis County, the North Sedalia and Skyline Elementary shelters will not be open due to severe cracks in the roofs of the shelters.
