The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) say that nearly 4,300 Missouri deer hunters donated 198,277 pounds of venison to the state’s Share the Harvest program this past deer season.
Sunday afternoon (Nov. 18),Governor Jay Nixon harvested an eight-point buck while deer hunting in Pulaski County. The Governor donated the venison to Missouri’s Share the Harvest program, a public-private partnership that provides meat to families in need.
