I thought about telling you what I think should happen to a man that abuses a woman, but then I figured the images that it would conjure are too graphic to put on this site. Suffice it to say that I think they should be dealt with swiftly and severely.

There are several different types of abuse. Physical, sexual violence/abuse, psychological and economic. Many times, multiple forms will manifest themselves in an abusive relationship. Women sometimes stay in these situations way too long. You DO have a choice.

Pettis County storm shelters are location at various locations around town and vary in capacity, able to shelter from 600-3000 people at a time. The shelters will be available when Pettis County has been placed under a Tornado Watch, and will remain open until the watch expires or has been cancelled. Information concerning whether or not residents should go to the shelter will be broadcast on Newstalk 1050 KSIS, as well as 1490 and available online via Nixle. Recently my family decided that it was time to get a second dog. While my wife and I have always had a dog in our life, this would be the first dog that our kids would have the chance to really help pick out. My wife is a big fan of dachshunds, while my kids like smaller type dogs. We are not a puppy family, and am proud to say we've gotten all of our dogs from area shelters since we've been married.
