It may be the end of July, but school is set to be back in session again very soon. There are a lot of parents who have started to get school supplies for the kids. There are many who have grown accustomed to the Back To School sales and Sales Tax Holiday. This year, the Back To School Tax Holiday in Missouri will be held from Friday, Aug. 2, through Sunday, Aug. 4.

The Boys and Girls Club of West Central Missouri has teamed up once again with Staples for the back to school drive. The drive has kicked off today (July 16) and will run until Sept. 28.

In the Northeast, people are swarming to beg, borrow, steal and even purchase last-minute emergency supplies to prepare for the worst of Hurricane Sandy. However, many stores are running out of those items, leaving people to return home empty-handed.

Somehow another summer has flown by and the kiddos are headed back to school again. Sure, that means vacations are over, the house will be empty and days at the pool are numbered. But what it also means is that it’s time to shop for supplies.

For a kid, there may be nothing more depressing than the first advertisements for back-to-school sales, which remind them that their summer vacation won’t last forever. The only thing more depressing for parents may be the cost of sending their little ones back to a new classroom.
