Well, the Missouri State Fair is now officially over. It seems like those 10 days go by quicker every year, doesn't it?

Lately, we have been treated to some great karaoke to get qualified for the Missouri State Fair Idol. I must admit, it's been quite some time since I have sang karaoke and when I do, I usually need a little bit of liquid courage.

Kids, it seems like just about everyone I know seems to have some kind of device that they carry with them all the time. It's either a cell phone, a tablet, a laptop, or even more than one of those! So I got to thinking that it couldn't be just me that noticed this. It really is that big a reality. But, what I was curious about was what they actually use it for.

Results from the City of Sedalia's customer service survey have been tabulated. The most popular city service is trash pick-up. The report also points out that residents enjoy living in Sedalia. On the other hand, the survey also reveals that a few of the services are in need of additional resources.

There are many things that I love about summer: baseball, barbeque, swimming and a few other things. However, one thing that annoys me is television. It used to be that summer television was a time to watch shows in rerun state and catch up with shows that maybe you missed an episode or two...

Wednesday has arrived, that means it's time for another edition of "Would you Rather."  Summer is officially here, I know that you have noticed the Summer heat and the humidity here recently and we haven't even made it to July yet.

About two weeks ago, Dale from Dukes & Boots had asked if there is something you’d like to see on his menu, what would you like. Our staff started talking and we took this a step further and asked the question if there were unique foods you’d like to see in Sedalia.  We got some surprising answers.

Father's Day is right around the corner, and being the procrastinator that I am, I have yet to buy a gift for ol' Pops.  Not like it matters, I feel like buying your Father a gift is one of the toughest things to do.  I know I'm safe with a gift card to a restaurant, but what if you really want to wow him?

The Great Outdoors Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club.  It will be a day filled with archery, shooting, fishing and all sorts of outdoor fun for the whole family.  But which outdoor activity is your favorite?

The Sedalia City Council met last night (May 23) to once again discuss the idea of a smoke free Sedalia. The pre-council meeting was a lively session of debate among the seven members in attendance, with the council clearly still split on the issue as they were at the work session earlier in the month.
