A bill in the Texas legislature that would impose some of the strongest restrictions on abortion in the country failed to pass before a midnight deadline on Tuesday, following extraordinary events in the State Senate that lasted all day.

Authorities say that five to 15 people may have died in last night's massive explosion at the West Fertilizer Plant in West, Texas. Many more, perhaps more than 160, were injured.
An explosion in West, TX, just outside of Waco, spread fires across multiple buildings and injured an unknown number of people earlier tonight.
