Teddy Joe McCleery, 75, of Otterville, passed away Saturday evening, December 19, 2015, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia.

He was born September 30, 1940, in Fulton, son of Earl Udell and Stella Wilkes McCleery.

On September 27, 1965, in Tipton, he married Mary Aldrich.

Teddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Otterville, where he served as a Deacon and the men’s Sunday School teacher. He retired from Nordyne. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary; a brother, Earl McCleery, of Tipton; a half brother, Don McCleery, of North Kansas City; a half sister, Sharon Clark, of Liberty; and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Iona.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, at First Baptist Church of Otterville, with the Rev. Russ Slocum officiating.

Casket bearers will be Randy Aldrich, Ryan Aldrich, Rex Jeffress, Donald Brodersen, Rick Holem, Bob Holem and John Brodersen.

Honorary bearers will be the church deacons.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the church, in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
