According to a statement from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, Shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 24, deputies were called to the 4200 block of West Main, just outside the Sedalia City Limits near the Sunset Village Trailer Park, on the report of a person with gunshot wounds.  Upon arrival, a 15-year-old white male was found to have sustained two small-caliber wounds on his arm and abdomen. He was transferred by ambulance to the Air Evac helipad and flown to a Columbia hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Preliminary investigation reveals the wounds appear to have been inflicted from a pellet gun. Investigators have traveled from Sedalia to Columbia this morning to obtain forensic evidence and interview the victim.
