An 18-year-old man from Sweet Springs was sent to an area hospital Tuesday morning after suffering injuries in a Pettis County vehicle accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 8:30, on West 50 Highway, 1 mile east of Buckley Road.

The online crash report states that a 2000 Ford traveled off the the left side of the road and crossed the median. The vehicle then crossed the east bound lanes, and ran off the north side of the roadway.The Ford then impacted the ground, went airborne, impacted the ground again, and finally came to rest in a field.

The driver of the Ford, 18-year-old Braden T. Butts, of Sweet Springs, suffered moderate injuries in the accident. He was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center, by PCAD, for treatment.

MSHP were assisted by Pettis County deputies.
