The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri raised more than $11,000 during its third annual 5K Glow Run/Walk, held last Friday (June 10) on the campus of State Fair Community College.

More than 260 people participated in the event, which invited runners and walkers of all ages out for a night of fun under the stars. Many wore their best “glow gear” to help light up the night, including necklaces, bracelets and more.

“We are so thankful to everyone who participated in the Glow Run. It was a great night for a great cause,” said Fundraising Director Meghan Jeffreys. This year's sponsors included Bothwell Regional Health Center, McCarthy Toyota of Sedalia, Inter-State Studio, and State Fair Community College.

Again this year a portion of the Glow Run proceeds will be matched by SFCC to create a $1,000 scholarship for the Club’s 2017 teen Youth of the Year. Photos and links to unofficial race finish times can be found on the Club’s website at www.bgckids.com/5k-glow-runwalk.
