The Missouri State Fair is right around the corner, and everyone has been talking about what concert they are most excited for at The Pepsi Grandstand. The State Fair committee has always done a great job bringing top notch entertainment to perform at the Pepsi Grandstand, but they have also brought great talent to the Bud Tent. Oh, by the way, it's free!

The Bud Tent is located right across from the entrance of the Pepsi Grandstand and has offered free musical entertainment for years now. At the Bud tent, you can expect the music to kick off around 2 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m., and on some nights, music will be playing well after midnight.

The best part of the Bud Tent is the different genres that Mark Wolfe and the State Fair committee has been able to bring in. “Providing free, live music for fairgoers is part of the State Fair’s commitment to affordable fun and this year’s Budweiser Stage line-up offers impressive options,” said State Fair Director Mark Wolfe.

Curtis Grimes will kick off the free music entertainment this year on Aug. 8 and 9 at the Bud Stage. Curtis was a contestant on NBC's “The Voice.” He is a young singer who has already shared the stage with some big names in country music like Kenny Chesney, Jamey Johnson, and the Eli Young Band.

It wouldn't be the Bud tent without local favorites The Nace Brothers. The Nace Brothers will perform opening night of the fair at 9 p.m. and continue that nightly appearance through Aug. 11.

Rachel Farley, who is due to become a huge country music star and already has a hit single with "Ain't Easy," will take the Bud Stage on Aug. 13-14 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. At age 13, Farley began opening for Brantley Gilbert. She also sang background vocals on Gilbert's 2012 single "Kick it in the Sticks."

Other artists that will take the Bud Stage at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. are: Native Run Aug. 10-11, Shelly Bush and The Broadband Aug. 12,  the Justin Heskett Band Aug. 15 and The Railers Aug. 16-17.

Charissa Mrowka and Country Cross, sponsored by Ford and Missouri Farm Bureau, will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 12-14.  Madd Hoss Jackson will perform on  Aug. 15-16 at the 9 p.m. slot the final weekend of the and the Full Moon Band Aug. 17 at 9 pm.

Don't forget about the Missouri State Fair Idol competition at 4 p.m. everyday, and the final round at 2 p.m. Aug. 18.

The Bud Tent Is shaping up to be a great time once again. We hope to see you out at the Bud Tent this year for all of the free entertainment. Thanks to Mark Wolfe and the State Fair committee for bringing in great talent this year and allowing us great music entertainment.
