Thelma Ethel Couchman, 75, of Green Ridge, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at her home.

She was born January 22, 1940, in Smithville, daughter of Gene and Mary Pike Hollingsworth.

She was united in marriage to John A. Couchman on June 18, 1957, in Platte City.

Thelma enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting and gardening, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

She was a nurse’s assistant at Bothwell Regional Health Center for 20 years and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by four children, John C. Couchman (Peggy), of Beaman, Marshall Couchman (Jackie), of Sedalia, Robin Dietz, of the home, and James Couchman, of Green Ridge; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Hollingsworth, of Arkansas; and a sister, Donna Timmons, of Half Way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Couchman; a brother, Pick Hollingsworth; and a sister, Maxine Thompson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Abney officiating.

Pallbearers will be James Couchman, John Couchman, Sr., Marshall Couchman, Aaron Brown, Jamie Couchman and John Couchman, Jr.
Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home.
