Thelma Louise Bruehl, 65, of Independence, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Sedalia, MO, with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in California Cemetery, California, MO. Pallbearers will be Dennis Warnke, Kenneth Koeller, Richard Morrison, Charles Stillfield, Daniel Benner and Ricky Woods. Prayers of the rosary will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart or American Diabetes Association, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Born March 13, 1947 in California, MO, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Juanita (Garrison) Sanders. On October 14, 1989 in Kansas City, MO, she was united in marriage to Edward John Bruehl, who survives of the home. Also surviving are two brothers, Dennis Lee Sanders, of Independence, MO and Jerry Sanders, of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Carrie Johnson, of Kansas City, MO; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Diana Rorrer and Debbie Lawrence.

Mrs. Bruehl was raised and educated in California, MO before moving to the Kansas City area, and was a graduate of East High School in Kansas City. She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church in Independence. She enjoyed travelling with her husband.
