Police reports for June 27, 2016

On Saturday, Sedalia Police arrested three individuals after a traffic stop on a silver Lincoln near Seventh and Engineer on Friday night. Officers observed the vehicle run a stop sign at Broadway and New York. The stop resulted in the deployment of the department's narcotics K9 unit. The dog alerted on the vehicle and the resulting search revealed methamphetamine, controlled prescription pills and synthetic narcotics (Demerol and Methado). Arrested were Christy L. Monteer, 38, Sedalia; Natalie Wingerter, 29, Sedalia; and Brandon Lee Blaylock, 34, Otterville.

Sarena M. Sundberg, 36, Sedalia, was arrested Monday morning around 12:36 a.m. after police responded to an argument that ensued behind Break Time, 318 W. Broadway. Sundberg allegedly drove away upon arrival of Sedalia Police on the scene. She was later stopped and arrested for Driving While Suspended, transported to the Pettis County and held for 24 hours, pending state charges.

Ivan D. Laster, 42, Sedalia, was arrested just after 4 a.m. Monday after a traffic stop at Broadway and Kentucky. An officer recognized Laster, who had a warrant. Laster was driving with a revoked license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Sean Sebastian Burke, 44, homeless, was arrested for 2nd degree Assault on a Law Officer, Resisting Arrest and having an open container in the 300 block of E. 17th. Burke attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, Burke allegedly refused to exit the patrol vehicle, kicking the door.

Trina L. Harvey, 34, Sedalia, was arrested for Property Damage after she allegedly punctured the left rear tire of a truck belonging to the victim in the 1400 block of S. Sneed, causing $100 of damage. She was arrested after she later admitted to causing the damage. She was issued a Municipal summons.

Ronald Neil Berry, 60, was arrested for Driving While Revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia on Saturday morning in the 200 block of S. Quincy.

Police arrested Nolan R. Hilderbrand, 24, Warner, Okla., after he allegedly jumped on the victim's car roof and caused damage in the 1200 block of S. Limit. He was later located and transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with 1st degree Property Damage.

A Versailles woman was issued a summons for stealing after she was observed by loss prevention concealing items in her purse at the Sedalia Wal-Mart on Thursday afternoon. $41.70 in clothing was later recovered. Sarah M. Danner, 30, has a court date of July 20.

Rockney R. Turley, 43, La Monte, was arrested for Driving While Suspended or Revoked after a traffic stop for a brake light in the area of Broadway and Kentucky on Thursday. He has a court date of July 13.

Genice Cordelia Sims, 68, Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear-misdemeanor after police found her parked in the roadway at 5th and Grand on Thursday evening. She was found to have an active warrant out of Pettis County. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she posted a $10 bond and was released.

Kyle W. Wissman, Sedalia, was arrested Thursday night on a Probation Violation after a traffic stop at 12th and Wagner. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Alexander Stephen Admire, 20, Sedalia, was arrested for DWI-prior offender after a traffic stop at 16th and Barrett for having no license plate light. The officer noted the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle and conducted a field sobriety test which he performed poorly, according to the report. Admire was then transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he submitted a breath sample, which proved to be above the legal limit of .08 percent. He was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released, pending the filing of state charges.

April D. Geiler, 33, Sedalia, was arrested late Thursday night on three Failure to Appear warrants out of Benton County, and one Failure to Appear upon arrest or summons out of Pettis County after Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of E. 24th. Geiler has a court date of July 20 and bond was set at $500.

Tamara Kay Henderson, 34, Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear upon arrest or summons after a traffic stop at 6th and Center Friday night. She had a Municipal warrant and was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Nolan Ryan Smith, 36, Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear upon arrest or summons after Sedalia Police observed several individuals loading up two cars parked behind a residence in the 1000 block of S. Massachusetts near the Katy Trail on Friday. Smith was found to have a municipal warrant. He has a court date of July 3 and bond was set at $150.

Michael O. Smith, 62, Sedalia, was arrested for DWI-prior offender late Friday night after a vehicle he was driving allegedly struck another vehicle while merging lanes on northbound Highway 65. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges.

Police took a theft report of two Rockford speakers valued at $500 collectively, from a van in the 200 block of S. Moniteau that occurred on June 16.

Police took a theft report of a purse and its contents from the 600 block of S. Missouri that occurred on June 22. There are suspects in the case, but they had not yet been located at the time of the report.

A citizen turned in a wallet that was found in the 1800 block of E. Broadway. The wallet was placed into found property.

Casey's, 3050 S. Limit, reported a gas drive-off of $38.20 on Friday at 2:41 p.m.

Cork 'n Bottle, 3806 E. Broadway, reported a gas drive-off of $36 on Saturday at 1:42 p.m.

Police investigating a gas drive-off at the Wal-Mart gas station found that a stolen plate was used in the theft. The victim's car was parked at the Sedalia Wal-Mart between 1:45 and 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.

On Friday evening, two subjects stole a bottle of alcohol valued at $16.97 from the Sedalia Wal-Mart.

A woman reported her back door was kicked in a her residence trashed between 8 and 9 p.m. on Friday night in the 100 block of E. Pettis. The only thing reported missing was a tablet that no longer worked.

Police investigated a two-car crash at Broadway and Winchester on Friday at 3:39 p.m. Jeffry J. Jones, of Leeton, admitted he was following too closely when he was eastbound on Highway 50 and struck a vehicle driven by Elizabeth A. Randall of Sedalia when traffic stopped for a red light. There were no witnesses to the crash, the report said.

A two-car crash occurred at Broadway and Herold on Friday when one vehicle pulled into another as they approached a company doing lane markings on eastbound 50. The police report said the company doing the work (Luektmeyer) didn't have any warning signs ahead of the work area, announcing roadwork or lane closure, which may have contributed to the collision. There were no witnesses to the crash, which involved Frankie E. Ray of Sedalia and Christy M. Schrader of Mora.

Sedalia Police put down a mentally-unstable opossum which was walking in circles for two hours in the 200 block of E. 28th on Friday.
