The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of western and central Missouri, including Pettis County.  The watch is effective this Thursday afternoon and evening until 9 p.m.

Remember, a tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

All storm shelters in Pettis County are now open and available for use.
