A recent traffic stop in Camden County led to the discovery of 2.5 lbs of methamphetamine.

A statement from the Benton County Sheriff's Office says the sheriff's office in Camden Count, along with Laneg Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, recovered over 2.5 lbs of methamphetamine during the traffic stop.

The suspect was reportedly headed to Benton County where he resides on Highway 7, just inside the county line. A search warrant was obtained and a search of the home led to the discovery of more meth and illegal weapons.

The Benton County Sheriff's Department said, "the criminal was a huge supplier in both our counties and responsible for many thefts on both sides of the line. The name of the suspect and address is being withheld as the investigation continues."
