The Pettis County Juvenile Drug Court is working with the Central Missouri Harley Owners Group and lots of people just like you to have some fun for a great cause this weekend. The program began in January as a partnership between the Pettis County Juvenile Office, Pathways Behavioral Health and the Sedalia School District 200.  They've been working very hard to get kids off the terrible path that leads to drugs and jail.  You can help! The Pettis County Juvenile Office is sponsoring the First Annual Trick or Trot 5k run/walk on October 18, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Fair Grounds. All proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Drug Court.  They're also working with  The Central Missouri Harley Owners Group to host a Poker Run.  It’ll be held on Sunday, October 19 with registration at 11:00 a.m. at Yeager’s Cycle Sales.  Kick stands are up at noon and cash prizes will be awarded.  50% o the proceeds will go to prizes, the other half will go to the Pettis County Juvenile Drug Court.  I got to talk with Erica Cox of the PCJDCP about the program, what it's doing for those kids, and about their two events this weekend.

So just to reacap, The Trick or Trot 5k  will be held October 18.   It’ll be held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds, beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Register at the Pettis County Juvenile Office at 403 South Lamine or at www.active.com.
