Pettis County Accident injures a Kansas man Saturday morning

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident on US-50 Highway at Rissler Road in Pettis County around 11:45 Saturday morning. The report states the accident occurred as a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina driven by 68-year-old Maria D. Galvan-Rizo of Sedalia attempted to make a left hand turn onto 50 Highway, failing to yield to a 1997 Ford Expedition driven by 49-year-old Alan S. Beck of Kansas City Kansas. The Chevrolet struck the Expedition in the left side of the vehicle causing both vehicles to slide off the right side of the roadway, where the Expedition began overturning. Beck received moderate injuries in the accident, and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. There were no other injuries reported in the accident.

Two Sedalia residents involved in a vehicle accident after the driver fell asleep

Just before 9:30 Saturday morning according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, the driver of a 1991 Chevrolet Lumina, 51-year-old David L. Greer of Sedalia fell asleep at the wheel of the vehicle on Route "Y" West of Winchester Drive in Pettis County. The accident report states the vehicle crossed the centerline, ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, went airborne, and struck a tree.  Greer and his passenger 44-year-old Ellen L. Cardwell also of Sedalia received minor injuries, and were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County Ambulance for treatment.
