Two were arrested early this morning (May 18) in the 1600 block of South Grand after police spotted a car with lights flashing and saw items thrown from the driver's side door across the roadway. The two occupants were contacted and the dispatch later confirmed the female had a Failure to Appear warrant and the vehicle was reported stolen out of Quincy, Illinois Police Department. Karrie L. Wentz, 36 (homeless) was charged with FTA and tampering with a motor vehicle (first degree). She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and held for 24 hours pending the filing of state charges. She has a court date of May 25. Joseph A. Markes, 31, was charged with tampering with another's property (2nd degree) and held at the Pettis County Jail for 24 hours, pending the filing of state charges.

On Tuesday night, Sedalia Police arrested Enrique D. Mitchell, 25, of the 1100 block of Osage, for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop for failing to signal and parking on the wrong side of the road. When officers contacted Mitchell, they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana. The driver admitted it was his and he was issued a summons with a court date of June 15.

Also on Tuesday night, Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of Albright Court when a woman reported her husband missing for the past 24 hours. The man reportedly made remarks about harming himself.

Amber L. Clapham, 27, of the 800 block of E. Sixth Street, was arrested by police early this morning (Wednesday) for Driving While Suspended or Revoked and Failure to Properly Display License Plates. She was being held at the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of state charges.

And on Tuesday afternoon, Police took a report of a cell phone valued at $60 that was stolen from a Smith-Cotton Junior High locker.
