Two individuals were recognized for their outstanding achievements by Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County on Thursday night.

During it's 13th annual "Works For You" Awards Banquet held at the Sedalia Country Club, Sam Hargrave and Mark Dawson received plaques from EDSPC Board of Directors Rusty Kahrs.

Hargrave retired from Empire Gas in February as a Sedalia Service Supervisor. He began his career with Empire in 1983 in Trenton.

"Sedalia has always been a special place for us. Even though we lived in Marshall, Sedalia was number one," Hargrave said after receiving his award. "There are people who will get out and do things, and it's always been a pleasure working here and I want to thank you for this award."

Dawson of KCP&L said it's been fun working Sedalia and Pettis County. "It's not finished yet," Dawson said. "It's been a fabulous year ... it's been one of my second homes," he said adding that he's worked with 29 counties and 259 towns. "I've been very blessed doing this for almost 31 years, and you guys make it fun."
