The victim stated he was traveling west on Main Street when a "beat up silver or gray Trail Blazer with no front grill" drove up beside him and shot his vehicle. The suspect then drove north on Oak Grove Lane into Pettis County.

While Police were processing the Kohl's scene, another officer located a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle and performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Pro Energy and State Fair Blvd. At the same time, dispatch received 911 call that the suspects in the traffic stop had shot someone on Cherry Tree Lane prior to the traffic stop. The caller stated that she and her husband were driving when the suspects in the Trail Blazer passed them, shooting at the victims vehicle.

According to the press release, a bullet entered the vehicle and struck the husband in the head. Police say the man was taken to the hospital, where he is in stable condition and is expected to survive the injury. The victim's name was not released.

Arrested in connection to the shootings was 27-year old Ashley M. Sherrell and 32-year old Jeffrey L. Marvine, both of Sedalia.

Sherrell and Marvine both face charges of 1st Degree Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. Marvine also had a Platte County warrant for Possession of Defaced Firearm.
