Two Sedalia teenagers suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident around 6:40 p.m. on South Grand Avenue Road, north of Kathy Road.

A 1999 Ford F-150 was traveling south, when the driver swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. According to the report, the Ford traveled off the road and struck a small group of trees. The driver then over-corrected and the truck returned to the road, overturned, and struck an embankment.

The driver, 16-year-old Jacob A. Baker, and a passenger, 16-year-old Courtney M. Johnson, suffered minor injuries in the accident. Both were taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center, by PCAD, for treatment.
