Two Suspects Arrested After Kidnapping Mother and 7-Year-Old Son from WalMart Parking Lot in Warrensburg
Two suspects have been arrested after kidnapping a woman and her 7-year-old son from a WalMart parking lot in Warrensburg on Thursday (Dec. 5). Alan E. Briscoe age, 23 of Knob Noster and Kevin A. Ratte age 21 of Warrensburg are facing charges of kidnapping, child kidnapping, 1st degree robbery, stealing a motor vehicle and sexual misconduct.
According to a statement from Warrensburg Police, the woman and her 7-year-old son were kidnapped by the two suspects displaying a handgun and knife while leaving the WalMart parking lot shortly after 8 p.m. The suspects forced the mother to hand over her money and drive to the ATM at US Bank at 615 N. Maguire St., where she was forced to withdraw more money.
The mother was then forced to drive north of Warrensburg, where Briscoe and Ratte threatened to rape her and kill her and her son. She and her son were forced to lay face down in a field as the suspects then stole the mother’s car.
Briscoe and Ratte are currently being held while the formal charges are being filed.
