Two-truck Crash Reported Just North of Sedalia

A Hughesville man was involved in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Pettis County.

Kenneth J. Kretzer, 46, Hughesville, was the driver of a southbound 1988 Freightliner that was overtaken by a 1996 Peterbuilt driven by 45-year-old Roy D. Witt of Buffalo. The two trucks were southbound on Highway 65 south of Georgetown Road. The Peterbuilt ran off the right side of the roadway and came to rest in a ravine, while the Freightliner came to rest on the right shoulder, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in its report.

Witt suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. Both drivers were wearing safety devices.

The Freightliner was driven from the scene, while the Peterbuilt had to be towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.

The Patrol was assisted in the investigation by Pettis County deputies and Sedalia Police.
