Two Warrensburg Residents Hurt in Scooter Crash in Henry County

Two Warrensburg residents were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident that occurred in Henry County on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Kevin E. Jones, 54, was the driver of a 2012 Yamaha Zuma scooter on Missouri State Road Y, ½ miles south of NE 1100 Road, when the Yamaha traveled off the roadway and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Jones and his rider, Rebecca L. Aker, 53, were ejected.

Aker suffered serious injuries and was flown to Western Missouri Medical Center to Research in Kansas City, while Jones suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical by PCAD. Neither were wearing a safety device, the Patrol said.

The Zuma had minor damage and was towed from the scene.
