Two Weeks After Buying Lotto Ticket, Man Realizes He Won
An eastern Missouri man is the latest winner of a Missouri Lottery Lotto jackpot, but it took him a couple of weeks to realize it.
The Missouri Lottery on Friday said 45-year-old Frank Carbaugh of Rosebud has claimed the $2.8 million prize from the April 30 drawing. He opted for a lump sum payment of $1.4 million.
Carbaugh bought the ticket at The Liquor Cabinet in New Haven. He allowed the computer to pick the winning numbers: 5, 11, 19, 24, 32 and 37. Carbaugh stuck the ticket in his wallet and carried it for nearly two weeks before realizing he had the winner.
