Vehicle Wreck Injures One Man Near Whiteman Air Base

A two-vehicle wreck near Whiteman Air Base sent a 51-year old Warrensburg man to the hospital Tuesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident just after 7:00, on Highway 23 south of Hwy DD, in Johnson County.

According to the online crash report, a 2003 Harley Davidson attempted to make a left turn into the gate at Whiteman Air Force Base and traveled into the path of a 2013 Nissan.

The driver of the motorcycle, Billy R. Matheny, suffered moderate injuries in the wreck. He was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center, by JCAD, for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan, 42-year old Laura E. Fonzo, of WAFB, was not injured, according to the report.
