Velma Dawn Gottschalk, 37, of Houstonia, MO passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at I-70 Community Hospital, Sweet Springs, MO. She was born May 17, 1976 in Sweet Springs, MO, a daughter of Don and Reeca (Tuggle) Arnold.

Velma was a 1994 graduate of Smithton High School. She was a very artistic person and loved scrapbooking, painting, and drawing. She aspired to be a published author and was in the process of working on a book.

Besides her parents, she is survived by one son, Trevor Gottschalk of the home; her maternal grandpa, Dan (Martha) Tuggle  of Sedalia; two sisters, Allison (Rick) Johnson of Houstonia, Hope Arnold of Houstonia; two brothers, Jared (Shela) Arnold of Houstonia, Eric Arnold (Lacy Hiller) of Houstonia; three nephews, Keaton, Devon, Brady; and three nieces, Taylar, Makayla, Emma.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joe and Esther Arnold; and her maternal grandma, Allison Tuggle.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Chaplin Ray Haught officiating.
