Vene Ralph “Frenchie” Nadeau, 67, of Green Ridge, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born October 15, 1944, in Biddeford, ME, a son of the late Alcide Joseph and Dianne (Dube) Nadeau. On May 27, 1967, in Windsor, he married Anita Crane, who survives of the home.

He was raised and educated in Biddeford. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 3, 1962, and remained on active military service as an Air Cargo Specialist until his retirement on December 31, 1988, attaining rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked in maintenance at the Sedalia Democrat where he initiated their safety program. He also worked at the Center for Human Services and was well-loved by his clients.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of Council 831 of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of VFW Post 2610 and was a past Post Commander. He assisted his father-in-law, Chester Crane, in the building of the veteran’s memorial in Windsor Park and faithfully placed flags on veteran’s graves in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on Memorial Day.

In addition to his wife, Anita, he is survived by two daughters, Angela Oprendick, of Warrensburg, and Chanelle R. Nadeau, of St. Charles; three grandchildren, Raven, Rowan and Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Betzen, C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville with full military honors.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 6 pm, Wednesday, September 19, with visitation to follow until 8 pm at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
