Veronica Cardenas Gaytan, age 52, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. She was born on March 13, 1963 in Colima, Mexico, the daughter of David Cardenas Ochoa and M.A. Cruz Gaytan who survive of Colima, Mexico.

On October 15, 1977 in Colima, Mexico she was united in marriage to Jose Lius Diaz, who survives of the home.

Veronica enjoyed cooking and she loved to sing and dance. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sedalia.

She is survived by two children, Luis O. Diaz and his wife, Erika, of Sedalia, and William A. Diaz and his wife, Veronica, of Sedalia; three sisters, Alida Martinez, Alma Cardenas, and Trinidad Cardenas all of the state of California; five brothers, Juan Cardenas, Martin Cardenas, Ernesto Cardenas, Angel Cardenas, and Javier Cardenas, all of Colima, Mexico; and seven grandchildren, Veronica, Yoswal, Jade, Emanuel, Mercedes, Ingrid, and Alexander.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David Cardenas; and a daughter in law, Martha Maria Montano.

Funeral mass of christian burial will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sedalia, with Father Geoffrey Brooke officiating.

Visitation will be held at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. A Rosary service will be held during the visitation at 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be held at a later date in Colima, Mexico.

Pallbearers will be William Diaz, Hugo Martinez, Luis Diaz, Maximino Ramirez, Martin Cardenas, and Irvin Cardenas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
