Virginia Lee Byrd, 65, of Fristoe, died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at her home.  She was born on August 21, 1949, at Warsaw, a daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Hogue) Smith.

On May 26, 1983, in Claremore, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Jack Byrd, who survives of the home.

Virginia was a homemaker and had worked for Rival Manufacturing and Broderick and Bascom in Sedalia.  She enjoyed reading, drawing, and spending time with her family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by:
two daughters, Donna Pendelton of Blue Springs, Tina Byrd and J. J. Doop of Warsaw;
two step-daughters, Karen Petech and Dennis and Nancy Byrd and Ronnie, both of the State of Kansas;
three sons, Richard Williams of Ionia, Robert Williams of the State of California, and Jesse Byrd and Michelle Fuelling of Warsaw;
three step-sons, John Byrd and Brenda of Sedalia, Robert Byrd and Becky of the State of Kansas, and Tom Byrd of Warsaw;
fourteen grandchildren;
twenty-three great-grandchildren; and
one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Dorothy Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Fredonia Baptist Church, Warsaw, with  Rev. Russell Lucas officiating.  Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery, Warsaw.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the family in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Pallbearers will be J. J. Doop, Robert Jeffries, Joe Harris, Jason Salley, Eddie Colbert, and John Byrd.
