The Thirteenth Annual Scramble for Freedom Golf Tournament, sponsored by West Central Veterans Assistance League, to benefit the Warrensburg Veterans Home will take place Sunday, June 5 at Royal Oaks Golf Course at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster.

The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration for your Four Person Scramble at only $240 per team. This includes lunch, 18 holes of golf and a golf cart. The shotgun start will take place at 10:00 a.m.

This year, according to the Supervisor of Volunteer Services, Latisha Koettnig, individuals, organizations and businesses may sponsor a golf cart for $50 in honor or in memory of their favorite veteran and submit their service photo.

Space is limited to 36 teams with only 10 team spots still available. Latisha explained that interested parties need to register as soon as possible to ensure a spot is available.

All proceeds from the golf tournament will go toward the purchase of a handicap accessible kneeling bus, which is extremely expensive. The Warrensburg Veteran’s Home has been saving to purchase this bus since 2014. Your participation is greatly needed in accomplishing the Warrensburg Veterans Home's goal.
