Warsaw Woman Injured in Benton County Crash

A Warsaw woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash that occurred in Benton County at 11:45 this morning (March 17).

Jamie R. Byers, 36, Warsaw, was the driver of a northbound 2004 Hyundai Elantra that overtook and struck the rear of a northbound farm tractor driven by 47-year-old Matthew K. Hesse of Cole Camp on US 65, 867 feet north of Hi Lonesome Road.

Byers was transported by Cole Camp EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was wearing a safety device, acccording to the report. The Hyundai was totaled and towed from the scene.

The tractor had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Patrol with the investigation.
