West Broadway Fire Destroys a Five Unit Apartment Building This (Thursday) Morning

House Fire Reported Early Thursday Morning on West Broadway

At 6:09 Thursday morning the Sedalia Police and Sedalia Fire Departments responded to a 911 call on a fire in progress at a residence in the 900 block of West Broadway. According to Deputy Fire Chief Gregg Harrell of the Sedalia Fire Department the apartment building, which contained five apartments was vacant at the time of the fire. When asked if there was any indication, that “Squatters” might have been living in the empty building, Harrell said at this time there was no indication of that. He did say the firefighters were not able to get to the upstairs apartments due to the stairway being burned up. The structure is believed to be a total loss at this time
