William Floyd Dye, Jr., 66 of La Monte, MO passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on February 12, 1947 in Columbia, SC a son of William and Margie (Oteka) Dye, Sr.

On September 8, 1979 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sedalia he was united in marriage to Brenda Louise Gertz, who survives of the home.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on the computer. William loved watching Royals baseball and Chiefs football. He worked for Parkhurst Manufacturing of Sedalia; Obeco Manufacturing of Cherokee IA; Monroe Custom Body of Greenfield, IN; Central Tractor of Sedalia; Orscheln Farm & Home of Sedalia and Swisher Farm & Lawn of Warrensburg. William was a proud member of the NRA.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William Eugene Dye and his fiancé, Michelle R. Meeker of Sedalia; one sister, Margene Hoskins and her husband, Terry of Branson, MO; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Liam Michael Dye.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 4:30 pm at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
