William Vencil Bishop, 74, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014, at his home.

He was born June 28, 1940, in Sedalia, son of Vencil Ward and Norma Mae Hood Bishop, who preceded him in death. In 1970, he married Margaret Jewel Anderson, who survives of the home.

Mr. Bishop worked in highway construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and anything outdoors. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Jeanie Wingerter (David), of Springfield; a granddaughter, Jennifer Wingerter, of Springfield; four siblings, Norman W. Bishop, of Sedalia, Phyllis A. Cardwell, of Sedalia, Carolyn S. Dahm, of Jefferson City, and David W. Bishop, of Sedalia.

Private burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
