Wilma F. Kleoppel, 77, of Warrensburg, formerly of Sedalia, died Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence.

 

She was born January 16, 1937, in Higginsville, a daughter of the late William and Ferneva Rebecca (Luetjen) Anson. On August 27, 1955, in Corder, she was united in marriage to Bernard D. Kleoppel, who survives.

 

Wilma was raised in Higginsville and a 1955 graduate of Higginsville High School. She was a bank teller at Farm and Home Savings in Sedalia and US Bank in Independence until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed reading, going to the Lake, spending time at the community center, traveling to see her daughter in Michigan, canning and gardening and playing pitch.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Bernie Kleoppel (Toni), of Sedalia, Tom Kleoppel (Donna), of Warrensburg, and Mary Westerdale (Dave), of Monroe, MI; a sister, Donna Burden (Gene), of Warrensburg; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Kleoppel.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church with Father Joe Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Kleoppel, Jason Kleoppel, David Westerdale, Jeff Kleoppel, Terry Kleoppel and Brian Kleoppel. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Gracheck, Zack Hubach and Barry Lutz. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

 

A scripture service will begin at 6 pm, Monday, August 11, with visitation to follow until 8pm at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
