This past week, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series completed a trio of events in the state of Texas. David Gravel was victorious from the 10th starting spot on April 13 at Gator Motorplex to score his fourth victory of the season, with Paul McMahan finishing second and Jason Sides third. Donny Schatz crossed the line fourth, while Jason Johnson rounded out the top-five.

The Outlaws then traveled to the famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway near Dallas, for a two-night event. In the opener on April 14, Johnson swept the night, turning the fastest lap in time trials, winning a heat race, winning the dash and leading all 25 laps of the feature to score the victory. Brad Sweet finished second, with Logan Schuchart third, Joey Saldana fourth and Kraig Kinser fifth.

In the finale of the Texas Outlaw Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on April 15, Sweet picked up the $20,000 win over Gravel. Sweet took the lead from Gravel in lapped traffic with just five laps remaining. Gravel ended up second, followed by Danny Lasoski, Christopher Bell and Sheldon Haudenschild.

In the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series standings, Schatz continues to lead, with Gravel now just 44 markers behind, after gaining nearly 30 points over the course of last week’s three races. Sweet sits third, 22 markers behind Gravel, with Johnson in fourth and Daryn Pittman in fifth. Shane Stewart is currently sixth, followed by Haudenschild, Schuchart, McMahan and Saldana.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series hits the track at Riverside International Speedway in Arkansas and I-55 Raceway in Missouri this weekend for a pair of races.
