According to a Nixle from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, Monday morning Pettis County Deputies arrested a 17-year-old student at Smith-Cotton High School for threatening an administrator with a knife.

The incident reportedly occurred in a school hallway around 9:30 Monday morning. The Nixle states the School’s Resource Officer assisted during the incident, which reportedly required the deployment of a Taser.

The classrooms were locked down during the incident for safety according to the Nixle report. The student who was not named was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of charges. The lockdown was canceled and the students were released to change classes at the end of the period.

The Nixle also states no other students were involved. A formal press release will follow in the case and KSIS will bring you that information as soon as it is available.
