$68,000 in Unclaimed Property Found at 2012 Missouri State Fair

According to Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel, 523 fair attendees found $68,000 in unclaimed property at the 2012 Missouri State Fair. One fair attendee was lucky enough to find $4,600 in unclaimed property. Treasurer Zweifel’s staff conducted over 1500 searches and talked to thousands of fairgoers about finding valuable unclaimed property.

“Each year, my unclaimed property team helps hundreds of individuals find property that belongs to them at the Missouri State Fair,” Treasurer Zweifel said. “Returning unclaimed property to the people who own it is a very important part of my job. I continue to seek new tools that will make it easier for Missourians to search for and claim their property every day. The fair is a great opportunity for my staff to answer questions and explain how it all works, while helping individuals find their property and begin the claims process.”
