Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A, in Lee’s Summit, announced the assignment of three new to troopers to Troop A. Included in the Troop A service area, are Pettis County and Johnson County.

According to a press release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the new troopers were members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 103rd Recruit Class, which graduated from the Patrol Academy on December 30, 2016.

Trooper Corey Parrott, of Columbia, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 12, which serves the citizens of Johnson County. Trooper Parrott is a graduate from Smith-Cotton High School, in Sedalia Missouri. After high school, Trooper Parrott served in the United States Army from 2007-2014. Trooper Parrott is married to Heather (Harbison) Parrott and they have two children. Trooper Parrott’s training officer will be Corporal Chad Kutzner.

Trooper Darren Bridges, of Bolivar, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 4, which serves the citizens of Clay County. Trooper Bridges is a graduate from Stockton High School in Stockton, Missouri. Trooper Bridges is married to Ashley (Goldenbee) Bridges and they have two children. Trooper Bridges’ training officer will be Corporal Mathew Yoder.

Trooper Tyson Hartshorn, of Blue Springs, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 3, which serves the citizens of Clay County. Trooper Hartshorn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Central Missouri. Trooper Hartshorn is married to Megan (Gard) Hartshorn and they have one child. Trooper Hartshorn’s training officer will be Corporal Brody Sanson.

The new troopers will report for duty on January 17, 2017.
