ABC News Vet Speaking at UCM About the Power of Education

John Quiñones, ABC News veteran and creator and host of the popular TV show "What Would You Do?" will be talking about the life-changing power of education at the University of Central Missouri on Wednesday, February 23, at 7:00 PM CST in Nahm Auditorium in the Morris Science Building.

According to an article on the UCM website, Quiñones will be making a presentation designed to enrich and support the student experience and promote the UCM campus as a place of ideas.

According to the UCM article, "Quiñone's uplifting, powerful, inspirational message focuses on individuals learning to believe in themselves, never giving up, and always doing the right thing."

Quiñones has tried to instill these values in his viewers through 14 seasons of his popular television show "What Would You Do?" A hidden camera program that films individuals dealing with an ethical dilemma. And then discussing the choices the person in the dilemma made.

Additionally, Quiñones has embraced his beliefs beyond the television show through a popular book and keynote presentations geared for business and general audiences to examine those What Would You Do? moments they face every day.

Quiñone's personal story is inspirational as well. He came from migrant farm work and poverty to a career of more than 30 years with ABC news that has broken barriers and gained numerous accolades while rising to anchor two of  ABC's popular news programs "20/20" and "Primetime".

This free presentation, made possible by The University of Central Missouri's Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity, is open to the public and the first talk in what the Center hopes will become many conversations with distinguished visitors to UCM.
