Adrian Teen Killed in Rollover Crash in Bates County

An Adrian teen was killed in a one-car crash that occurred in Bates County Sunday night.

According to the MSHP, 18-year-old Carson L. Elmer of Adrian was the driver of an eastbound 2005 Chevy on County Road 1002, just east of Route V, when at 7:45 p.m., the vehicle traveled off the roadway, struck a tree and overturned on its top in a water-filled creek. Elmer was pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m. Monday morning by Bates County Coroner G. Mullinax. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

Bates County deputies assisted the three Patrolman on the scene, which included Marine Operations.

The body was released to the Bates County Coroner.
