Traffic stop results in multiple charges for a Sedalia man Wednesday afternoon

Just before 2pm Wednesday afternoon Sedalia Police observed a car with truck plates in the area of Broadway and State fair Blvd.  During a traffic stop the driver initially gave the officer the wrong name. Upon learning the driver’s real name he was found to have three warrants out of Henry County. The driver identified as 48-year-old Jason H. Pennington of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold, pending charges of identity theft, probation violation, no proof of insurance, and failure to appear charges.

Improper registration stop leads to arrest for a 28-year-old Sedalia man

At 9:23am Thursday morning Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with improper registration near 7th and Massachusetts. Upon contact with the driver 28-year-old Heather R. Meddley of Sedalia she was found to have a Morgan County warrant. At the time of the police report Meddley was in the Pettis County jail pending a $300 bond.

Video disproves a woman’s claim of an accident at Walmart

Around 1:50 Thursday afternoon the Sedalia Police were called to the Walmart parking lot on a reported accident. Upon contact with the complainant she told the officers she was pushing a cart through the parking lot with a child, when a vehicle backed out of a parking spot, and struck the cart making her impact the cart’s handle. A subsequent check of the stores video system showed the vehicle did not hit the cart. According to the other sources the child was taken to the hospital, but nothing was included in the police report to support that information.
