Area crime reports 11-2-18
The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 23-year-old Justin D. Meyers of Knob Noster in Lafayette County at 1:01 a.m. Friday. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and No Proof of Insurance. Meyers was taken to the Higginsville Police Department, where he was booked and released.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 66-year-old Lynn A. Bowers of Warsawat 944 p.m. Thursday in Benton County. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and taken to the Benton County Jail for a 12-hour hold.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at 32nd and Grand at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday. The officer detected a strong odor of marijuana, according to a report. One occupant fled the area, but was quickly apprehend. Arrested was 18-year-old Trenton Robert Willis of Sedalia. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. His passenger, 19-year-old Shamar Dayllon Pinkett was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. Both were transported to the Pettis County Jail.
On Wednesday at Broadway and Sneed at 10:26 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Mercedes for failure to use a turn signa. A computer check revealed that the passenger, 20-year-old David Yautushenko of Green Ridge, was wanted on a Pettis County warrant on a conservation charge. Yautushenko was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $150 bond. His court date is TBA.
On Wednesday just after 7 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 45-year-old Jonathan J. Sauer in the 800 block of E. 11th. According to a report, Sauer was not in compliance with Halloween restrictions as a registered sex offender. The report stated that Sauer had Halloween decorations displayed in his front yard, had the porch light on and the door open. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
On Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m., Sedalia Police took a hit-and-run report at Van Natta Fabrication, 16th and Vermont. According to the report, two witnesses stated that a black passenger car struck an old Chevy truck parked on 16th near Vermont, then left the scene. The truck had damage to the driver's side of the vehicle. Police were provided with suspect vehicle information.
On Wednesday night around 8:55 p.m., Sedalia Police and Sedalia Fire responded to a structure fire at 1411 S. Barrett. According to a report, a detached garage was fully engulfed in flames and had caught the northeast corner of the residence on fire. Residents were evacuated and the fire was extinguished. The State Fair Marshall has been called in to investigate.
Pettis County deputies arrested Jessica Rena Brown after conducting a traffic stop for an improper turn near 12th and Marshall Thursday night around 9:20 p.m. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, failure to register with the DOR and no seat belt. Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
