Sedalia firefighters responded to 1210 South Harrison on Friday evening to battle a house fire that appears to have been intentionally set.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Matt Irwin, a call came into Central Dispatch at 7:26 p.m. July 19 and firefighters arrived on scene at 7:29 p.m.

Irwin said most of the  damage occurred on the first floor in the rear of the two-story structure and on the back porch. He estimated 75 percent of the house was lost to the fire, which he said was intentional.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal was called to the scene.

There were no injuries reported and firefighters cleared the scene at 11:29 p.m.
